Final Two Fruit stand Suite Projects

Good evening! I am even later today, it has been a busy one. We did some Christmas makes at Lumby Craft and Cuppa today and it was very odd given how warm it was outside. I am thinking I will leave further Christmas crafting until October when it will probably feel a bit cooler.

I wont stay long as I need to pack my bags ready for another class tomorrow. In the final two projects we used the Strawberry stamp and papers. They look fab teamed with Emerald Envy, I have really come to love this colour.

This was the first card I had made using this card design and I admit to having made several more since with various different stamp sets/ suites . I always like to make a 3D item in my classes so we had to make a matching box!
Finally here is a picture of them both together...

Thank you for your visit, Nic.

Harvest Time....

Hello... Did you have a good weekend? It was quite a busy one for us as a family and among all the various things we got up to this weekend there was one activity that stood out. Luke and I went to Lotheron Hall which is an ex stately home now run by our local council. They hold various events each year and as we live very close we have a season pass. Well yesterday it was their Apple Picking Day, they have a small orchard where they grow a fair few varieties of apples and once a year they invite people who visit to pick their favorites to take away. So armed with a book to distinguish which apples were which variety (whether they were desert or cooking) we wondered round and picked the ones we fancied the look of. As we went round and Luke was referring to apples as being Real Red or Rose Red I realised how much time he spends with me and my SU supplies. He has caught the bug of referring to colours by their Stampin' Up! Colour names!

Anyway rather appropriately I have some projects to share with you this week that use the Fruit Stand Suite from the annual catalogue. We made these at a recent Lumby Craft and Cuppa session. Today I will share the most difficult of the three projects. Well the ladies told me it was the most difficult and they were a little flustered making this card.

Why you may ask? as it looks quite simple well firstly it has a surprise inner and secondly because this was their first introduction to two step stamping and as you will see from the photo below I had them stamping multiple images. This pear requires four lots of stamping, two for the outlines and two for the stamps that colour in the middle. You stamp the pear outline and then the leaf outline which both then need filling in.

This is an explosion card and really packs a wow in my book and is so simple to make, its an oldie but still a favorite with me. I love the sentiments that come with this set and this one reads ' We Age Not By Years But By Stories'

Anyway I will leave you there, I am mid prep for the next Craft and Cuppa at Lumby Garden Centre which is this Wednesday 14th September, If you live in Leeds or the surrounding area you are very welcome to drop in and join us we will be there from 9.30 am - 11.30 am. You can find out more details on my Facebook page which is linked on the right hand side of my blog. Thank you for joining me today. Nic

That Friday Feeling....

Hello! As promised I am back to share the final card but a little later than planned! I have had an eventful day and everything got pushed back today. A friend and I had decided we would take a walk today to a local landmark as we both want to try and get a little fitter! The walk entailed walking through some woods but we could not find the official path so ended up following some tracks which led us to an area where pheasants are kept. We narrowly avoided stepping into a wire trap, saw a wild fawn and waded through lots of boggy swamp-like mud. Next we got set upon by a very over familiar barking dog thankfully very shortly after we finally found the correct track and made it to the Cafe for much needed refreshments! The detour probably took us out of our way by about a mile on top of the 5.5 round trip, needless to say despite following the direct route home I was shattered on my return home!

Anyway here is the final card in the series, which is quite autumnal....

What I have not previously said is we added a little extra to the middle of each, I particularly like this verse....

Finally here is a photo of them all lined up. Unfortunately by the time I got to photographing them all a very big dark rain filled cloud was over our house so these are still a little dark.....

Do you have a favourite? I cant decide between the umbrella one or the one with the leaves, I love the new copper foiled card in the new Seasonal. If you would like a copy please drop me a line and I will pop you one in the post. Before I go I will just share some info about the current offers..

If there is anything you fancy you can visit my online shop here.  Once the website opens click on SHOP NOW to start browsing. Thank you for your visit, I will be back on Monday with some more projects. Nic

New School Year And Some Resolutions.....

Hello!

Well September came round very fast didn't it? My son has returned to school and I have had a couple of days of getting used to being able to think for myself again. The time spent with him in the school holidays is precious, but for me there always comes a time when I need a bit of quiet time just to think and reflect on life. September is almost like a second New Year as we look ahead to the next School Academic New Year and as such I have set my self a few goals which have been churning around in my mind when I have had a spare moment. Do you do this too?

Anyway enough of my ramblings, I thought I would share some cards we made at my last Craft and Cuppa at Lumby Garden Centre. I have continued to run my sessions over the summer and was chuffed to have a couple of extra young people join us in some or all of these sessions. One Young lady joined us at every session and just seemed to relish learning new techniques. I particularly loved that she often brought along her own creations/versions of the projects we had previously made in the class. We will miss her in the first session back after the holidays! I am looking forward to seeing her version of the shaker cards we made in the last session, here they are.....

The photo is not great as I took it just as the sun was going down, we made three cards in this class. For once I decided to go easy on myself! Initially I had thought we would use several shapes for the Shaker windows but once I had made one that I was happy with I decided to stick with circles only and it worked well.

I will pop along on Friday and post the final card and In the meantime I will attempt to get some better photos of them all together to share. Thank you for visiting, Nic

Affectionately Yours Suite Class

Hello - I thought I would pop in and share with you the remaining two cards we made with
The Affectionately Yours Suite at Lumby Craft and Cuppa the other week.

The first one is one of my go to cards to make, I have made so many different versions of this fun pop up card over the last  couple of years, it is just so effective and always looks fab!

It is really very easy to make as long as you have a piece of 12 x 12 Card stock , out of which  you can make two cards. I originally followed a tutorial by Inge Groot one of The Artisan  team members, I would post a link but I cannot for the life of me find the pinned post  - SORRY!

Our final card was a Pop- Up Gift Card Holder and for this I followed a tutorial by Crafty Caroline you can find the post here http://goo.gl/fh2CDC
Finally here is a picture of all three cards together , this proved to be really popular class, I was asked to run it a second time by some of my class ladies who had not been able to make the first date.

Finally here is a link to the products I used -  Shop now  - from the 7th - 31st July for every £45 you spend in the shop you will receive a voucher via email from Stampin' Up! for £4.50 which can be redeemed in August against a product of your choice.

Thank you so much for visiting I really do appreciate it.

Is it really July already?

Class Projects

Well where is the year going? It is already the 1st July and only three weeks until the big school holidays. I am sorry for my lack of posts, life has just taken over this year. I have been holding classes and my Lumby Craft and Cuppa sessions as usual and have lots of photos of projects we have made ready to share but they just never made it onto here! I came along to update something the other day and realised how many hits my last post had, which is what inspired me to come along and post again.

So I thought I would start by sharing one of a series of three cards we made at  Lumby Craft and Cuppa about a month ago. I had bought some pre order products from the new Catty and wanted to make sure I used them so I set my mind to using the Affectionately Yours Suite of products. I fell in love with the papers so decided to buy the stamp set and embossing folders that complemented them. But I must admit I really struggled to use all of the products together but I pushed on through and here is the first of the three cards I came up with.

You can nott tell here but its a Large Square Pop Up Z Fold Card and I had been wanting to make one for such a long time. I followed a tutorial by the amazing Amanda Bates at The Craft Spa Blog here is a link if you would like to make one for yourself  http://goo.gl/fXYEmk

The ladies loved the papers and the butterfly which is always a popular addition to any project. But the thing they especially loved was how deep the embossing is on this card which makes it stand out. If you would like to find out more about the products I have used then here is a link to my online shop http://goo.gl/mCNxQ7

Thank you for visiting me today I really appreciate it. Nic

Class Projects....

I thought I would pop in and share some more projects from Wednesdays 'Lumby Craft and Cuppa'. It was the first session of 2016 and it was good to see the ladies who attend again to have a good catch up as well as do some crafting! I run my Craft and Cuppa sessions fortnightly at a local garden centre and offer a couple of options for people attending they can either make a single handmade card or join me for a full class which involves making three projects which are generally two cards and a 3D item. As promised here are the photos.

I cased a second card from Onstage Live in Brussels but tweaked a few things. We used a stencil to colour in the inside bits with a blender pen before die cutting two Roses from Silver Foil Paper  to glue over the top. To add a little bit of extra dimension we also used the Wink of Stella but its not easy to see here.

We used two of the smaller thinlets that come with this set to cut some leaves and a smaller rose which we then glued to a piece of  DSP which is one of the select Sale A Bration products you can choose from with a qualifying order of £45 or more, We then fussy cut round it and added some more Wink of Stella to it.

And finally here is a photo of all the makes together, If you would like to find out more about the products I have used here or even to purchase them then please follow this link http://goo.gl/yODa4E to visit my shop.
Thank you for visiting me today.
